Mexico is one of the world's most popular vacation destinations. Some of the most visited spots in the country are found in a region called the Yucatan Peninsula. Located in the south of Mexico, close to Central America and the Caribbean Sea, this region is home to sunny beaches, lush scenery, and gorgeous blue ocean waters.

One of the most popular destinations on the Yucatan Peninsula is Riviera Maya, a region that is less than an hour outside Cancun (travelers arrive at Cancun's international airport when traveling here). The Riviera Maya offers fantastic beaches and its lush jungles have made it a favorite for travelers who enjoy adventure activities, hiking, bird watching, and other diversions that let them get close to the natural beauty of a beautiful, tropical region.

Visitors to the Riviera Maya are also close by to the fantastic archeological sites found there, including Chichen Itza, which is home to a Mayan pyramid that was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, and Tulum, the ruins of a walled-in Mayan city built on the coast overlooking the sea (the only Mayan ruin that boasts such a location).

In comparison to the regions jungles, beautiful coastlines, and remnants of the ancient civilizations that once ruled over it, the Riviera Maya's other big attraction is a fairly new addition. We are of course talking about the All-Inclusive resorts found there.

It is easy to understand the appeal of all-inclusive resorts. Staying at one is like stepping into a fantasy. You will need to bring your wallet for identification purposes for your flight and whatnot, but once you've made it to the resort, feel free to leave your wallet in your room safe. Everything you'll need to enjoy yourself is included in the price of your guestroom (or suite). Dining and drinks are unlimited, as are activities and entertainment. Some resorts, like Aventura Spa Palace, even include tours to the must-see local sites, like Mayan ruins, so you won't even have to pay extra to book your excursions to off-site attractions. Aventura Spa Palace is one of the best All-Inclusive resorts in the Riviera Maya. Catering to an adults only clientele, it is an obvious choice for romance, and also excellent for couples on their honeymoon.

All-inclusive resorts are among the most popular places to stay for travelers who are visiting Mexico. In addition to the Riviera Maya, all-inclusive resorts are found in Cozumel, Los Cabos, Cancun, Playa del Carmen and more. There are also many all-inclusive resorts to be experienced on Caribbean islands such as Aruba, St. Lucia, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Antigua and others. Still, more all-inclusive found in some of the world's more far-flung exotic locales and in Europe.
